We headed to Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF-HELEXPO)!
Demokritos Innovation was there, under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (ΓΓΕΚ | GSRI) and the Ministry of Development and Investment, showcasing cutting-edge research, deep-tech innovation, and the power of collaboration.

We were deeply honored to open this year’s exhibition with a visit from the Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. Panagiotis (Takis) Theodorikakos. His presence marked a dynamic start to our participation and served as a strong vote of confidence in the scientific and technological innovation presented by our teams.

We also had the privilege of welcoming the General Secretary for Research and Innovation, Tasos Gaitanis, PhD, who took the time to explore our booth and connect with our pioneering exhibitors, further reinforcing the vital role of innovation in national development.

Day 1 highlights included:

AiTHERION , which brings Ancient Greek philosophy to life through immersive, technology-powered cultural experiences.

Angelfish, an autonomous surface vehicle designed to clean marine environments from surface pollutants—an inspiring example of applied environmental technology (Christoforos Rekatsinas ).

A special highlight was the insightful presentation by Vasilis Stenos , Co-founder & CEO of Solmeyea , who shared the company’s transformative vision of producing sustainable, high-quality protein from carbon emissions using white microalgae.

Finally, a big thank you to Marianna Nathanail, Head of the European Investment Bank Office in Greece, and Irene Vlachaki, Head of the DG ECFIN Athens Office of the European Commission, for visiting our booth at TIF-HELEXPO 2025! It was a real pleasure to connect and exchange views on innovation, research, and collaboration opportunities.

It is especially inspiring for us to see #women in key leadership roles in #research, hashtag#finance, and #policy, bringing valuable perspectives to the conversation.
